When I started thinking about working for myself and how scary it all seemed having worked at a school for so many years, the one thing that made me have the courage to try, was all the people I started reading about that had been just where I was then and didn’t regret having started their journey.
I have since, personally and virtually met amazing people with great ideas that I am always keen to rave about!
Cristina is one of them! I am in love with her range of children’s clothing, and if you and your little one are attending our Nanos classes, I am sure you will too!
Here is a bit about her:
NS: Hola Cristina! I really, really like your new collection but can you tell me a bit about how it all started for you?
C: I started sewing snoods at home in the dining room, then I took over the garden office and turned it into my workshop. I honestly didn’t have a clue on how to start a business but after 5 months of endless research I clicked the live button on my website on the 12th of January and I have slowly started adding products to the shop.
NS: what was the scariest thing for you about starting your own business?
C: It has to be the financial aspect of it all. When I started I was still married to my ex and half way through the launch of the shop we split up so pushing myself to keep going with the business whilst going through a divorce was very scary and hard but I’m glad I did it!
NS: Can you tell me a bit about your last collection?
C: I am originally from Spain and I constantly try to teach my children Spanish. So the BASICO collection comes from having to repeat myself 100 times a day with the same word 🙂
NS: Which are your favourite pieces? And which are the best sellers?
C: I think my favourite design is the ‘Piña means Pineapple’, that is how it all started and my first design so I am very fond of that one. But the best seller has to be the rainbow one: Arcoiris
