Nano Tips 5: Spanish Apps for children
There are a lot of Apps for children.
Having done my research individually and drive tested the Apps observing my son Oscar loving, or disliking others here is what I found. My criteria has been the following: for toddlers, good graphics, simple activities, easy navigation good pronunciation and no adds. For older children, all mentioned above plus interesting challenging games.
A bit more Spanish help for our parents
Summer is over and you might have practised your Spanish during a nice holiday in Spain and remembered how much fun it is to speak an other language!
Well, here is a bit more help to our Nanos Spanish parents: a collection of videos assembling levels A1, A2, B1 and B2 in the Instituto Cervantes’s ELE (Spanish as a foreign Language) programme.
Enjoy September and keep practising!
A quick peek into a Nanos Spanish class
Did you know that early childhood is a time when language skills develop very rapidly?
Nanos’ program was born on the believe that we should do our best for our children, taking full advantage of their innate ability to learn languages.
Nanos Spanish is aimed for 1 to 3 year olds. Our classes are active, interactive, and include a mixture of body and movement related exercises, games, songs and educational activities; all aimed to develop not only the linguistic competence of the children but also other key areas of their development.
Plus if you don’t speak Spanish yourself you will be learning the language too!

Happy New Year 2015
Nano and me would like to wish all a very happy, adventurous and successful 2015.
Nanos Spanish has worked really hard this year to offer the best Spanish classes for toddlers and children. We have started creating and recording our own songs to fit exactly our learning objectives. Our programmes are constantly revised and improved to suit our different classes and we are very proud to have received wonderful reviews from you.
Thank you for all your support this year and we are really looking forward to keep having loads of Spanish fun!

The linguistic Genius of babies
The brain of a person who speaks more than one language works like a traffic light. When it needs to choose a word in the language it is using at that moment, the brain will turn the green light to that language and the red to the one it doesn’t need . This selection process in an involuntary brain gym that improves its grey matter.
Have a look at this video and how babies’ brains are all geared up to learn different languages. Amazing:
Autumn / winter song collection
We have been working very hard to finish our Autumn/winter song collection. I must undoubtedly thank Sam Willoughby @willobmusic for his guitar magic and my dear friend Esti for her lovely voice.
These songs have been either created or adapted by Josefina to illustrate and work with the concepts of our Autumn/Winter learning programme.
We are now working on the videos with some very talented small local folk. Here is a sneak preview of our first draft. It is cold out there, put your shoes and coats on and Let’s go!
